Reverse DNS service is a premium service of Nettica Corporation and is not bundled with any of our other services. Reverse DNS is a business-class service available to customers with a block of static IP addresses. Reverse DNS service adds credibility to your Internet presence and is becoming ever more important in the fight against unsolicited email. Major ISPs have begun blocking email servers that do not have a proper reverse DNS record setup.
Nettica offers classless reverse DNS services for IP address blocks ranging from 8 to 128 addresses. This service is not available to customers using dynamic addresses. With our reverse DNS service you control the Ptr records for your IP address block. In order for us to handle your reverse DNS, you must contact your ISP and have them delegate the reverse DNS lookups for your network block to our DNS servers (DNS1.NETTICA.COM, DNS2.NETTICA.COM, DNS3.NETTICA.COM, DNS4.NETTICA.COM, and DNS5.NETTICA.COM).
So who supports delegations to Nettica's servers?
Their zone file setup would look similar to this:
0-29 IN NS DNS1.NETTICA.COM. 0-29 IN NS DNS2.NETTICA.COM. 0-29 IN NS DNS3.NETTICA.COM. 0-29 IN NS DNS4.NETTICA.COM. 0-29 IN NS DNS5.NETTICA.COM. ; 0 IN CNAME 0.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 1 IN CNAME 1.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 2 IN CNAME 2.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 3 IN CNAME 3.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 4 IN CNAME 4.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 5 IN CNAME 5.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 6 IN CNAME 6.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 7 IN CNAME 7.0-29.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. This is a fictional example of an ISP's zone file setup for the 192.168.1.0/29 address block.
